It’s very evident that each of the professors has a passion for teaching. The way they explain the concepts is so clear for those who have never learned them before, and they are all so kind and receptive. Whittier gave me an excellent grasp of the fundamentals of physics, and the liberal arts education fulfilled my passion for literature, foreign languages, and art.

I’ve seen what I should be doing in the classroom and it’s made me more prepared to do that.

Through my interdisciplinary education I learned the ways in which business, advocacy, and law all intersect. I learned how to work with different personalities, how to effectively manage a team, and how to advocate for others and myself. However, the most important thing I have gained through these experiences is a lifelong network of individuals I know I can always lean on.

I can't thank Whittier College enough for helping to play such a pivotal role in preparing me for life after school.

The combination of lectures, practice labs with classmates, followed by immediate application with real 5th graders provided an extremely unique learning opportunity that resulted in a tremendous grasp of teaching and service.

I’ve always wanted to be involved in art. If I’m not making it myself, I want to help others to get their works into the public eye and get the attention it deserves. To me, the arts management major blends the essentials of both business and arts. You get to pick the concentration that fits you best, hone your skills in it, while also learning how you can make it into a living.

Research has its ups and downs, but it can be really interesting and fun. It’s not going to be perfect or what you expect the first time; troubleshooting is part of the process.

This small community facilitates relationship-building and can be helpful for getting references when you need them. Whittier also offers a good amount of scholarships and financial aid for students who qualify.

Beyond growing as a performer, I learned so much about theatre from a sociocultural lens and came to understand how theatre is a reflection of social change. I don’t know that I would have had such a multidisciplinary approach to theatre at any other school.

The well-rounded education and opportunities I got at Whittier have given me the flexibility and diverse skill set I need to succeed in the complex world of public administration and beyond!

In nearly every class I took as a Whittier student, I felt that professors made an active effort to learn about the students as people and would go out of their way to support us on our paths. This level of one-on-one advising, support, and encouragement is unique to Whittier and was my favorite part of being a Poet!

You would be hard pressed to find another college that offers the same professor-to-student ratio. Every one of my professors knows me, so I receive personalized advice on my own entrepreneurial ventures.

My favorite class was Graphic Design 1. It was the class I learned my heart belonged to graphic design. The best thing about the graphic design major is seeing how much my peers and I have grown and become such a tight-knit family.

I learned so much and grew as a mathematician. I also learned how to think outside the box and as a result I know how to study when I am not understanding certain concepts.
